MEO and Head Masters Discussions at Ulavapadu Colonies
In November 2019 Vasudha team visited 3 primary schools close to the 4 colonies – Kotireddi Colony, Thirupathi Reddi Colony, GVR Colony, Venkareddi Colony of Ulavapadu mandal with an intention to get the children from these colonies admitted to these government schools. We met the principals of these schools with an intention to align the efforts of Vasudha in these colonies with the expectations from the government schools. Our discussions with the principals was focussed around the following:
Explained efforts of Vasudha in the 4 colonies and show them the students from those colonies.
Identify good students and inform us so that we can help them with their further education
Current teacher strength and their need for additional teachers
Vasudha volunteer teacher assistance in teaching
Based on the discussions with the principals, Vasudha has reorganized its efforts in the 4 colonies to make it more aligned with the schools. Vasudha volunteer teacher now spends in each of these schools 2 hours a day providing necessary help school needs in teaching. In addition our focus is now shifted to identifying and training children for Gurukul school entrance exam.
Vasudha team also met Mandal Education Officer (MEO) of Singarayakonda and Ulavapadu to inform him of Vasudha’s efforts and the assistance we are providing to the schools with volunteer teachers. MEO approved the assistance. MEO also requested that Balreddy Colony school would appreciate our help with a volunteer teacher as they have only one teacher with 100 students. Vasudha team has been looking for a suitable teacher that fill this requirement.
Vasudha team visited the Balreddy Colony school to understand their current situation.
