General Overview of Scholarship Awards
Our decision to award scholarships and/or financial assistance (referred as “Award”) is determined by our Board of Directors (the “Board”). The Board employs an individualized and comprehensive process in reviewing each person’s application for requested award.
The Board uses the following criteria in awarding scholarships.
Financial Needs Test: Vasudha as a non-profit charitable organization looking to support financially under privileged applicants aiming to advance their education and there by uplift their community through their educational advancement. For this reason, Vasudha Board will be reviewing the financial status of the applicants and scholarships will be awarded to most deserving applicants.
Educational Interest Test: Vasudha as a non-profit charitable organization has limited financial resources to fund the scholarships as the awards are based on the funds available through donations from general public. To effectively utilize the available funds, Vasudha Board will be reviewing the applicants to ensure applicants have demonstrated good educational interest through above average results from previous years to award the scholarships to the most deserving applicants.
Equal Opportunity: Board is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all applicants and does not discriminate based on race, color, gender, age, religion, marital status, disability, height, weight, or veteran status. The Board utilizes a comprehensive, in-depth review process to evaluate candidates for the requested award and strive to ensure that each applicant receives fair consideration.
Once the application (the “Application”) and all other required documentation is completed and submitted to the organization, the Board and/or a committee thereof performs the initial reviews of the application and there after, Board or an organization representative contacts the applicant for an in-person and/or telephonic interview (the “Interview”). Once the interview is completed, application is referred back to the Board for final determination on whether or not to make the award. The Board then communicates the final decision to the applicant.
