In December 2023, Vasudha has successfully completed 100 day Tailoring Training camp at Gadalapalli village of Tiryani Mandal, Asifabad district, Telangana. As part of this camp, 31 rural women have been trained to learn tailoring skill and utilize it for their own needs as well as to earn their livelihood. One additional aspect to note with this camp is that the trainer for the camp has learned the tailoring through our earlier camp in Tiryani and she has mastered it so well that she is now able to teach others in the nearby villages. At the end of the 100 day camp, our team visited from Hyderabad to test their skills and they all have performed exceptionally well.

Vasudha under its physical wellness mission is embarking on development of Miyawaki Urban Forests to fight the climate change. Miyawaki Urban Forest development is a proven concept that everyone of us can contribute to fight the climate change and create bio diversity that has been taken away from Mother Earth through urbanization. Compared to conventional landscapes and tree plantations, forests made using Miyawaki Method grow 10 times faster and they have 30 times more green surface area. They are full of biodiversity. The process of forest making is 100 percent natural and free of chemicals. These forests retain ground water, thus recharging the ground water table. They attract more birds, produce native fruits and improve air quality. They are relatively easy to implement as a small forest can be developed in as small as 10 X 10 sft backyard area.

Vasudha will be using the Miyawaki methods established by Shubhendu Sharma of Afforestt and local expertise of Ms Neelam Patil of International Association for Human Values to start with a small patch of land in San Martin, California and look to contribute more from that experience.

With collaboration with Pens Sahyog Foundation in Mumbai, Vasudha has been conducting tailoring skill development center in Urse for the past one year. After successful completion of several trainings for the people around surrounding areas of Urse, Maharashtra, the 30+ machines from this center have been moved to three such skill centers in Tarapur, Nandgaon, Palghar to be able to serve more people from the surrounding areas of these centers. This has happened during July 2023. Tailoring classes are happening at these centers since then supported by a Vasudha sponsored trainer shuttling across the three centers to train them.

Saksham Impact is clearly visible. Ladies from saksham training center Nandgaon and Palghar learned the making of Salwar, Chudidar, Frocks and school uniforms now after 3 month of training. They make and sell these product locally. PENS – VASUDHA is proud to create rural self employment by skill education.

Vasudha has supported Yandra Vanaja to continue her education in Computer Engineering Diploma at BVC Institute of Technology and Science. On August 30 2023, Vasudha has paid Rs 21,000 directly to the college towards her first year college fee. Best wishes to Vanaja for successful completion of the course she is pursuing.

Vasudha is continuing to support the B.Tech education of Sanaboina Pavani at GIET. On August 18th 2023, Vasudha has paid Rs 39720 directly to GIET for her 4th year B.Tech college fee. Vasudha has supported her for previous year as well. Best wishes for Sanaboina Pavani for successful completion of the course she is pursuing.

Vasudha through its efforts to support education for underprivileged people, on August 13th 2023, has paid college fee of Rs 20,000 to Pragathi Women’s Degree College in Kukatpally for the first year degree of Sai Maheshwari. Vasudha has supported her for her intermediate education last year. Best wishes for Sai Maheshwari for her successful completion of the course she is pursuing.

Vasudha in collaboration with Pens Sahyog Foundation is continuing to support 4 students Suvarna Jayvant Gahala, Sadhana Ramesh Andher, Renuka Chandu Hadal, Vasula Santya Gorwala for continuing their Nursing education. These students hail from the rural areas of Maharashtra. They are pursuing GNM course second year in Sree Dutta Nursing Institute. On September 5th 2023, Vasudha paid their college fee of Rs 25,000 per student directly to the college. Vasudha has paid for their first year fee as well in 2022. Best wishes for these students to continue their studies and become torch bearers for these rural areas they come from.

Vasudha was invited by Telangana government representatives from Asifabad district to be part of their 10th anniversary celebration of Telangana formation day- Suraksha Divas. Vasudha team members have been honored for the work we are doing in the district to help underprivileged people to stand on their feet through the tailoring training and education support activities.

On April 23 2023, Vasudha team visited Tellaballi village in Kodada to distribute 15 tailoring machines to the 15 people that got trained in tailoring in this village to help them stand on their feet. This is the birth place of Asifabad Superintendent of Police K. Suresh Kumar garu. Vasudha has been working with Asifabad police to help in various villages of Asifabad.
