Vasudha has successfully conducted its second eye camp on July 7th 2019, this time it is at Singarayakonda GVR Government Junior College. This camp is conducted in collaboration with Sankara Eye Hospital, Guntur and District Blindness Control Society (DBCS), Ongole. In preparation for the camp, Vasudha campaigned in all the villages of Singarayakonda Mandal by announcing and going around in an auto.
On the day of the camp, villagers have started showing up from 7.30 am onwards though camp was planned from 9 am to 2 p.m. A total of 131 patients have been registered at the camp and tests have been conducted by Sankara Eye Hospital staff.
Among the patients tested, 69 patients have been found to require a surgery to correct their eye sight of which 4 patients are unfit to undergo the surgery and 1 patient is not in a position to undergo the surgery. 64 patients have been advised to come to the same camp site on 8th July at 4 p.m to be picked up by Sankara Eye Hospital vehicle. After the surgery, patients will be dropped at the same camp site and will be instructed to follow strict after surgery care. A month later on August 9th, Sankara Eye Hospital will be conducting reflection tests as post surgery procedure to make sure patients are progressing well with their procedure. Vasudha volunteer team worked hard to make this possible, in spite of the hot temperatures prevailing in the area.

Help 8th class student in Singarayakonda for Brain Surgery Expenses
We came across a 8th class student in Singarayakonda studying in Lotus High School, who became unconscious while he was at school. He was first admitted to Ongole RIMS hospital, but they recommended him to be shifted to Hyderabad due to lack of necessary facilities locally. He was then shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad where he was diagnosed as having a blood clot in the brain which needs immediate surgery.
He underwent one surgery on April 22nd 2019, but it unfortunately failed. On April 24th 2019, he went through one more surgery. He is currently on ventilator support in a recovery room. We pray for his situation to improve and come back to normal health. We are trying to mobilize any funds we can raise to help his hospital expenses which are running in several lacs of rupees. We request any kind hearted people to come forward and contribute to this cause. Even a small amount would be appreciated. After the next few days, we will send the collected funds directly to the student’s father’s account. We sincerely appreciate your help for this student.
Following is some additional documentation we obtained for this boy in the Yashoda Hospital. We have been in touch with the hospital authorities and monitoring the boy’s progress through the local volunteer team. With the help of other kind hearted people around the globe, they are able to raise about 6.5 lacs of rupees against about 15 lacs of expenses estimated. Each of us lending a hand can help this boy’s hospital expenses covered. Please come forward and help. Let us help this young boy recover from this and live his full life.
Update from April 27th 2019 is that boy is going through a critical condition with his brain and chances of his survival are slim unless a miracle happens. He is currently being transported to his native Singarayakonda on ventilator support. It is unfortunate that it is coming to this, but we keep praying that some miracle happens and he is able to come back. Will update as we know more. Currently we are not collecting any more donations for this cause and what ever we collected so far, we will send across to his father to take care of the expenses. We tried our best to help the boy, but our wishes are not always the same as God’s plan for him. Sincere thanks to everyone that came forward to help this boy with the surgery expenses. We believe that doing our act on what is right is important and the results we get are not always in our hands. Thank you once again for everyone’s support on this.
